This wasn’t really anything special – not far from regular white wine – but I liked it way better than any commercial traditional mead I’ve tried.
Brew Stage: Completed
Must:
- 1 cup strong black tea
- homemade yeast nutrient (boiled bread yeast)
- 3 pinches dried orange peel
- 1 snack pack raisins
- 1/2 pkg Lavin 71B wine yeast
- ~2.8-3 lbs honey (kirkland brand)
- water to target gravity
Started
Added 1 tsp bread yeast (don't ask me why, wouldn't recommend)
Racked
Racked and bottled, no back-sweetening (made 1*1L, 3*750ml, 1*500ml)
