Brew Stage: Completed
Must:
- 2*1.89L bottles Ocean Spray Cran·Pomegranate Juice
- 450g sugar (microwaved with a bit of the cranberry juice at 30 second intervals until dissolved, stirring occasionally)
- 3rd generation yeast slurry from previous wine (Cran·Grape Wine)
Additions:
- yeast nutrient and/or energizer as needed.
Pretty good but very dry - should back sweeten prior to bottling
Yeast slurry came from fridge (had cold-crashed the previous batch). Left on the counter for a couple hours to come to room temperature
Microwaved 450g sugar with some of the juice and added to the fermenter after adding 1.5 bottles of juice (in order to avoid shocking the yeast)
Added 1/4 tsp yeast nutrient
Added a bit of yeast energizer (didn’t measure but maybe 1/2 tsp)
Racked to 1 gallon glass bottle
Bottled - didn't end up backsweetening. Quite dry but I don't mind it.
