Brew Stage: Completed
Must:
- 8 *1.89L bottles of Ocean Spray Cran·Pineapple Juice
- approx 2L plain cranberry juice
- approx 2kg sugar
- 1pkg Lalvin 71B yeast
Note: Made a syrup with sugar and cranberry juice (1/2 cup juice for each 1 cup sugar) and added until target gravity was reached or the container was full
Additions:
- 1/2 tbsp yeast energizer after 6 weeks
- 1/2 cup slurry from another (complimentary wine) after ~8 weeks (optional)
Started Batch (using heat belt)
Added ~1/2 tbsp yeast energizer. *Should have degassed some first as it bubbled over a lot.
Hoping to speed up fermentation, I added ~1/2 yeast slurry from Lemon Wine batch
increased the heat belt temperature (on cycle changed from 10min on/10min off to 10min on/5min off)
Turned off heat belt. Not for a real reason—it just got wet.
Not bubbling anymore so I think it's finished. Keeping in the same fermentor to clear and didn't bother racking. We'll see if it clears on its own. Otherwise I'll probably rack then return to the same carboy.
